NYSE Arca filed a request for a change in the rules for the registration of two Bitcoin ETF

Trading platform NYSE Arca filed with the Commission on securities and exchange Commission (SEC) to amend rules that would allow to register two ETFs tied to futures on bitcoin.

In the dated December 9, the application States that the company wants to register two ETF - ProShares Bitcoin ETF and ProShares Short ETF. First time applications for registration of these funds was submitted in September of this year. These ETF will buy shares in derivatives and other financial products that may affect market development of bitcoin. According to the document, NYSE Arca, owned by Intercontinental Exchange (ICE), proposed rule change on December 4th.
"According to the application for registration, the investment objective of the Fund is to study the results (before fees and expenses), which in a single day and over time reflect the results of the performance of the main futures contracts on the bitcoin, and was traded on the CBOE or the CME," writes the company.

NYSE Arca had previously tried to register a startup SolidX ETFs, but the SEC refused to change the proposed rules in March of this year. This move followed the refusal of registration of the Fund, the Winklevoss brothers, but then the SEC decided to reconsider its decision after the Bats BZX exchange.
