Week LApps: Blockstream is a new application for Lightning

In the last three weeks, among the three main teams of developers working with different clients of the Bitcoin Lightning Network, there is a noticeable stir. Immediately after the announcement of the release of the beta version of the main network of Lightning Labs in the blog Blockstream appeared other ads telling about the new features of the server Elements Project Lightning Charge server and client c-lightning.
Independent developer Nadav Ivgi (Nadav Ivgi) has created for the company a whole series of Lightning applications called LApps, which offer a few very interesting use scenarios and are ideal for bidirectional payment channels and peer-to-peer routing of the Lightning network.

The first application of LApp was FileBazaar, which is a simple e-Commerce solution with which content creators can sell access to their work. FileBazaar uses a system of payment for viewing, providing for the acceptance of micropayments Lightning in exchange for various digital products, including video files, pictures and documents. The jаvascript-based application offers a user - friendly web interface and store owners simple configuration options.

Lightning Publisher's WordPress plugin solves The problem of providing simple and transparent monetization of online content without resorting to advertising revenues, which most publishers still have to rely on.  The app allows WordPress-based publishers to accept instant micropayments using Lightning to provide access to full articles or posts on the site.

The Nanotip app allows users to send tips with bitcoin with the help of Lightning. Tips were once very popular in the Bitcoin space and are used as a simple way of expressing approval to content creators. However, the traditional method of using one cryptocurrency address as a" tip box " can have a negative impact on privacy. Nanotip solves this problem by replacing the usual static addresses for tip by an Internet bot that uses Lightning Charge's built-in validation feature to create unique lightning accounts for each contribution. This solution should preserve the anonymity of participants.

The solution called Paypercall is a long-awaited solution for the next generation of micro-payments network, through which web developers can request payment for specific API operations. Paypercall can also be used as a reverse proxy server that intercepts requests of services in the same way until the payment is made. The app offers incredible prospects for developers in a variety of industries.

Another discovery from Blockstream is called NanoPos. The solution is a simplified sales system designed for companies working with products that are sold at a fixed price (for example, coffee shops or snack bars).  The app allows merchants to create items through a configuration file, and buyers can pay for items by scanning QR codes and sending transactions to Lightning Charge server.

All listed LApps applications are of great interest to both developers and users. All of them simplify and encourage the use of Lightning Network, increasing the use of payment channels Protocol and beta version of the main network c-lightning. Intrigued developers are looking forward to working with the elements Project Github repositories for all LApps to explore the possibilities of bitcoin micro payments through the Lightning Network.
